Ege University(EGE) is a state university that acts as a focal point for education, research, cultural and social activities in the city of Izmir and the Aegean region. Ege University was established in 1955. Today, Ege University, which is aware of the responsibility of being the first university in the Region, pioneers the cooperation platforms of Izmir and Regional Universities in different areas.
Ege University is a research based, teaching oriented institution, training students up to Doctorate level. In total of 70,000 students are enrolled at Ege University and the number of the academic staff is approximately 3,000 by 2019. In accordance with its mission of becoming an international university, Ege University has entered into more than 100 academic cooperation protocols with many foreign institutions all over the world to promote the enrichment of teaching and research programs.
Ege University has a wide array of academic units, nationally renowned research groups and modern Laboratories suitable for interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral projects in collaboration with different stakeholders. Today, Ege University has 17 faculties, 4 four-year and 10 two-year vocational training schools with special programmes jointly developed in collaboration with industry, 9 Institutes, 37 Research and Application Centres.
Ege University puts a Special Focus on University – Society Relations and emphasizes activities that contribute to the socio-economic development of the Society and the Region. Joint projects and active cooperation with regional universities, national organisations, regional and national stakeholders are carried out with a special emphasis on utilizing research results for the benefit of the society. It ranks among the top five Universities in Turkey with respect to its publications, patent disclosures and commercialization of research results.

埃杰大学是一所以研究为基础、以教学为导向的机构，培养学生至博士学位水平。截至2019年，埃杰大学共招收70,000名学生，教职工人数约为3,000人。根据其成为国际化大学的任务，埃杰大学已与全球众多外国机构签订了100多项学术合作协议，以促进教学和研究项目的丰富。
Ege University拥有广泛的学术单位、全国知名的研究团队和适合跨学科及跨部门项目的现代化Laboratories，可与不同利益相关者合作。如今，Ege University设有17个faculties、4所四年制和10所两年制vocational training schools（这些学校与行业合作开发了特殊programmes），以及9个Institutes和37个Research and Application Centres。
Ege University特别重视大学与社会的联系，并强调有助于社会和地区社会经济发展的活动。与地区大学、国家组织、地区和国家利益相关方开展联合项目和积极合作，特别注重利用研究成果造福社会。在出版物、专利披露和研究成果商业化方面，该校位列土耳其前五名大学之一。
